PHASE I: Raise the Roof and
Activate - Complete!

Thanks to the generosity of our community, the funds were raised and a new roof is now in place. This important first step protects the historic Walnut Theatre and sets the stage for everything still to come.

PHASE II: Exterior Renovations

  • Exterior facade renovations

  • Restoration of the iconic marquee

  • Retool the current footprint to allow for box office and back-of-house spaces for equipment and artists

PHASE III: Interior Renovations

  • Create the look and feel of an artistic and creative space from the Art Deco era!

  • Expand and generate flexible seating for special events and community forums

  • Refresh public spaces, concessions, and restrooms

Programming

Community Partners

  • Develop partnerships with existing communities to give a home to our local and regional performers and creative arts

  • Think: Plays and musical theatre, performances by regional partners, artistic therapies, youth programs, and other locally relevant community initiatives

A Hub for Creatives

  • Provide a regular rotation of unique and innovative opportunities to enrich the creative landscape with new styles, genres, and events that do not currently exist

  • Think: Cultural dance and events, open mic nights, poetry and prose, battle of the bands, song-writing collaboratives, screenings of regionally produced films, and more

Good for the Neighborhood

  • Host community initiatives and celebrations

  • Think: Public and private events, group gatherings, social and cultural events
